Το Υγεία ιδρύθηκε το 1970 από μια ομάδα Ελλήνων ιατρών, με στόχο τη δημιουργία ενός προτύπου για τη χώρα Ιδιωτικού Νοσοκομείου. Είναι το πρώτο μεγάλο Ιδιωτικό Νοσηλευτικό Ίδρυμα που λειτούργησε στην Ελλάδα και το νοσοκομείο αυτό είναι μία από τις μεγαλύτερες ιδιωτικές Νοσοκομειακές Μονάδες της χώρας.
